SERVICES

Mr. Doddridge’s firm has worked with attorneys throughout New York, New Jersey and New England. In March 1999, he testified at a subcommittee hearing of Massachusetts senators and representatives in support of an "Act Providing for the Licensing of Home Inspectors," now Chapter 146 of the Acts of 1999. He recommended a section of the bill, now included in Section 205, requiring a licensed home inspector and associate to "promptly report to the insurance company any complaint …" The board may "deny, refuse renewal, limit, suspend or revoke the license of a home inspector or an associate" if the inspector "… (3) failed to report a claim forthwith to the insurance carrier …" His recommendation and support were acknowledged in Senator Jacques' letter to him dated December 16, 1999.

Apart from Donald and David Doddridge’s wealth of experience in construction and building inspection, litigation support requires a full understanding of the background surrounding each case.  It also requires intensive analysis of deposition transcripts, interrogatories, photographs, communications exchanged between the parties, and all related documentation, including court filings. The qualifications of opposing experts are checked.

Site review is mandatory if the site conditions have remained static.  Photographs may be taken at that time.

Our opinions are formed via researching state and federal codes, industry standards, and local practices. We provide opinions of validity/invalidity of a dispute.

We estimate corrective costs in construction disputes and remedial costs in injury disputes and will include settlement opinions. Mediation and arbitration assistance and trial testimony are provided if necessary.

Court testimony has averaged no more than one to two times yearly; arbitration averages the same. Virtually 95 percent of all cases are settled.
